Current Projects

Our school participates in various community and fundraising projects throughout the year. Projects running in 2016:

BUILDING OF EIGHT NEW CLASSROOMS
For quite some time, there has been a real need for more classrooms at Wynberg. The school is pleased to unveil the plans for the building of eight new classrooms in Wellington Quad. Or, monitor the progress with us as the building progresses.

WOOL FOR WONDERS
Wynberg Girls’ School Old Girls’ Union, in partnership with the Constantiaberg Bulletin has launched the “Wool for Wonders” jersey  and Beanie knitting challenge. The aim of the challenge is to produce as many jerseys & beanies as possible for the babies at Nazareth House. The Wool for Wonders Campaign patterns for 2017. The YAW Doll pattern  is very easy to knit and creativity is your only limitation – the YAW (You Are Worthy) dolls are sent to police stations with childcare units.

SMALL CHANGE, BIG DIFFERENCE
This project was launched in February at the beginning of the year. Each term, the houses compete against each other to bring in as much small change as they can in order to raise funds for their school.

RAISING FUNDS EFFORTLESSLY
By swiping your my school card you can raise funds for your favourite school. At the end of every month, the beneficiary of  your choice will receive a percentage of the purchases you have made.

FUND A FUTURE ALUMNI PROJECT
“Education is the bridge between hope and despair” and of the importance of providing an education for women. The impact of this single deed on families, communities and the world is tranformative. Should you wish to contribute to this fund, write to Hilary Mills, our Business Manager.
