Redefining our outlook on education and the privileges that come with it could alter one's entire high school experience. During my time in leadership I would like to change the schooling environment to create a more socially-conscious and aware body of learners who represent our core values with pride. As a result, our understanding and attitude towards our education and circumstances will be a lot more positive and appreciative.

To work closely with the leaders of all groups within the school to ensure that we create a space in which learners not only feel comfortable, but confident enough to express themselves in all parts of their identity. I believe that by giving them opportunities to engage with people of all different backgrounds, it only strengthens them in their character as they explore what values align best with them as individuals. Thus enabling them to feel self-assured in situations that challenge those values and beliefs.

“"Leadership is not a position or title, it is an action and example." - Anonymous”

Lilitha Ontjies Head of Sustainability

I'd like to encourage learner involvement in every pillar and portfolio at Wynberg (not just my own portfolio). I think it's really important for learners to expose themselves to as many different clubs, societies and sports during their time at school because in that sense, you become well-rounded and knowledgeable. You also get to meet some really cool people. Putting yourself out there really pays off, so I think as leaders we need to put an emphasis on involvement and community.
