The last few years have brought with them much reflection on our past, ways of revealing our present and opportunities to shape our future. One of the points of focus in this journey has been the names of our houses, which, for many, provide an uncritical light on the injustices of colonialism.

Towards the end of last year, and this year in particular, all stakeholders - staff, learners, parents and alumnae - were invited to to participate in the collaborative conversation about what names might bring value to Wynberg Girls' High School, which, as any school should, reflects the community it serves.
