The theme of this week’s meeting was “Causes and Protests.” Many members presented causes which they feel very strongly about to the society. Claudia Harrison spoke about the 100% Human Campaign and attitudes towards disabled people;  Kelley-Beth Oliphant spoke about freedom of expression ( and some cartoons by Zapiro in light of the recent painting of Jacob Zuma) and abandoned children in hospitals and Tarryn Beattie spoke about Education (especially the recent protest by South Peninsula High School). The society as a whole had much discussion during the meeting - hugely appreciated in a society such as this is the diversity of thought and the range of opinions.

We look forward to 12 June when we shall have our next meeting.
