Congratulations to the leaders of 2011, who were inducted on 26 October. We wish them well in their term of office.
On the 26 October 2010 the students of Wynberg Girls' High, as well as proud parents, gathered in the Aileen Currie Hall for the Induction of the Leaders of 2011. There was much excitement and huge pride in the newly elected leaders as they, the members of the Representative Council of Learners, Matric Leaders and the School Council, walked up onto stage to receive their signed pledge and badge.
In a simple and moving ceremony the school and guests were welcomed by Mrs Freed and addressed by Mrs Harding. Mr Burrell introduced the new members of the RCL and thanked those who had served the school in 2009-2010. Thereafter the members of the 2011 School Council and Matric Leaders were invited to the stage to receive their pledge, and badge. The leaders of the 2010 School Council have been fine role models: they worked hard, well and made the year unforgettable. An inspiring speech from the new head of school, Tessa Suttle, left no doubt in any minds that the leaders of 2011 were going to give of their best to ensure that they continued this fine tradition We wish them well in their term of office.
After the ceremony, parents, staff and leaders of 2011 enjoyed a lunch together in Brink Quad prepared by Shirley Cartmel. For just a moment in that proud day, they could celebrate the occasion together.
