What happens when you challenge Wynberg Girls’ to reach a certain goal? Well we go over and ABOVE of course.

On Monday the 11 of June, Jade Marx spoke (Head of the Interact Society) to the school about a project that Interact was very interested in getting involved in. The organization is called the Stop Hunger Now organization and their aim is to eradicate the plight of hunger in our life time. They have come up with a concept whereby they can feed one individual a warm meal this winter for literally R2.

The goal Jade presented the school was to raise R4000 on the 15 of June by encouraging each and every Wynberg Girl to take part in the civvies day taking place as a fund raiser. Interact has put up posters trying to encourage that girls bring more than R5 to guarantee the fact that we meet the R4000 amount in order to feed 2000 people this Winter.

Interact has been very proactive in marketing the school campaign and have even made a giant tally counter in the shape of a fork outside of their weekly Interact venue. The entire “fork” was hand made by their members. Mrs. Roux and the Interact committee feel that this is going to be a successful campaign and their attitudes are very optimistic towards the final counting of exactly how much money Wynberg has collected.

As soon as we divide that number by 2, we will let you know precisely how many people Wynberg Girls’ will be feeding this winter.
