A day that should have been filled with sport and plenty of sun, but didn't quite turn out as planned...
The morning of November 26 dawned with grey skies and the threat of rain: not the ideal conditions for a sports day. However, the school was unperturbed, setting up the necessary benches and house flags as the school congregated on the field in relevant divisions according to house. The cheering started; everything and everyone was set for the day ahead. The sun was shining and the races began.
However, the weather revealed that it determined the order of events, not us. The rain poured down after a mere four events had taken place. As sheep are, we were herded into the Main Hall where we found seats and chatted with friends as the Technical Team set up the projector. After a few important notices, the school settled down to watch 'Little Miss Sunshine' (a fine irony on this non-shiny day). The movie was thoroughly enjoyable, bringing laughter and fun to the otherwise rather grey day. The movie was definitely a story that we could relate to, and we roared with laughter at the crazy family created by the characters. After the movie, there was a short break before going to roll call and then departing for home in the pouring rain.
As for the sports... well they may get done later in the week, but no-one quite knows for sure... The day was certainly an entertaining one, with last minute changes making it just that much more exciting.
