On Friday 13 March, Copenhagen hosted an inter-house Wynberg Masterchef challenge.
Two girls from each house were given the opportunity to be chefs for the afternoon. The participants were very enthusiastic and could not wait to put their culinary skills to the test.
Earlier in the term, each Heads of House was given a packet of muffin mix, which they could use as a head start to raise funds for the ingredients for the challenge. This was also seen as a way to involve the whole house, since only two chefs could participate in the actual competition. It was up to each house to see how interesting and challenging this experience would prove to be.
The two chefs from each house were required to prepare a salad and a drink 'for their mmm and a friend' at the competition; however, no cooking was allowed. It was exciting to watch the preparation process, as well as to see the mouth-watering final results. The meals were judged by two adjudicators, one of them being Wynberg’s very own Mrs Kourie!
It was a fun, delicious afternoon. A huge congratulations to all of the chefs who competed for their house for the title of Wynberg Masterchef. In the end the top three teams were Wellesley, Waterloo and Silverlea.
